Casey Roderick qualified third today, with a speed of 177.043 mph, among a stout filed of competitors in his first trip to a super speedway. Roderick will race tonight in the Ansell Protective Gloves 150 – in the ARCA series.
The 100-lap, 150-mile Ansell Protective Gloves 150 will air live on SPEED at 6 p.m. Central. Live timing and scoring and live audio coverage of all events will be presented by ARCA Nation and the ARCA Racing Network at ARCARacing.com.
Damn! If there is one thing I thought Casey would have learned from Bill was a little patience. You can’t win the race if you don’t get past the first 10 laps. You could see that coming from a mile away. He was driving the car so hard for the first few laps and getting loose over and over. Dang it, and I was just starting to enjoy it.
Oh well, everybody needs to be brought back to earth once in a while. Hope Casey can learn from this.
I’ve known Casey since before he could walk or talk. He is a champion and will bounce back from Chicagoland. If one race determined the success of a driver we wouldn’t have the sport at all. All drivers have been impatienct and have made bad judgments. I was in Chicago and saw it all go down. Yes, it was heartbreaking for us all but we must remember all the wonderful driving he has done to be where he is now. My faith and support for Casey is stronger than ever. Let’s look to Kansas City and move on.
Yes, you are right. Besides, I would rather have to reign in a driver a little than have a driver not pushing the limits. Hopefully Kansas City will go a little better for him.
Tough break. Didn’t get to see any of it but, I know how he’s feeling and Kansas will be one to watch! Go gettem Casey!
Good job Casey, take what you learned to Kansas and win.
Does anyone know where these cars are coming from? I know that they’re fielded by Finch, so I assume that they’re simply retired Phoenix racing cars that raced a couple seasons ago? Was Casey ever racing a Dodge as I seem to recall hearing that he was in an old Evernham/Petty/Gillete Dodge at one point but I may be mistaken…has he been racing Chevy in every Arca start? This is the kind of info I find fascinating about Arca…to know the story behind these cars and where they’re coming from.
Thanks!
